HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH

Teacher: Miss Bludworth

Grades: 9^th-12^th

During the first semester all English classes will focus on writing. Each class will begin with journal writings daily. Ninth through eleventh grade English will focus on writing short answer and essay responses. The seniors will focus a large part of their time to writing responses over poetry. Every class will participate in essay contests, short story readings, poetry, and creative writing activities. Each class will be held accountable to a writing contract.

Writing Contract

What needs to be done a 100% of the time in writing?

1. Punctuation

2. Capitalization on every first letter in a sentence.

3. I as a pronoun is always capitalized.

4. Proper nouns always need to be capitalized.

5. No slang

Miss Bludworth will not accept any work that breaks this contract.
