Hello!
My name is Jennifer Rucker.
I am a Special Education and Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher
here at Mullin ISD. I received my
Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in
Psychology from Tarleton State
University in 1999.
After receiving my degree I went on to work as a Probation officer
for and couple of years in Ballinger,
Texas. After I gave birth to my first son,
Joshua, my husband and I decided that my line of work was not as safe as
we would like it to be with our new baby.
So we moved back home, to Comanche, Texas, where I stayed home with my
child for two years. During which
time I had my second son, Jaxson. I also went back to school at Tarleton
State University
to work on an Alternative Certification Program to receive my Teacher
Certification in Family and Consumer Sciences. While attending Tarleton
I made a friend who told me about a program out of Denton, Texas,
called iteAChtexas.com. I applied
to the program and was accepted.
Mrs. Sharp was gracious enough to give me a job last year which
completed the requirements of the program. I am now a certified EC-12 Special
Education Teacher. I plan to take
the Family and Consumer Sciences EXCET test so that I can also be
certified in that area.
This is my second year at Mullin ISD. I love the students that I have had the
privilege of working with and teaching.
I enjoy coming to work each day just to see these smiling faces. It brings joy to my heart to know that
I can make a difference in their lives.
My future educational goals include
receiving my Masters in Education Counseling/ Psychology in hopes that
one day I will school counselor.
I feel that I have a great sense of humor. I love to laugh and smile. I feel joy when I see my students happy
about what they are learning, which is why I decided to teach in the
first place. My commitment to education and love of learning
is shown in my classroom on a daily basis.
