MULLIN SCIENCE |

SKIP THOMAS |
To many, science is a
collection of facts: the height of the tallest
mountain, the depth of the deepest ocean, or that there are
602,200,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms in one gram of hydrogen.
However, the importance of
science is twofold.
·
To help us
appreciate the complexity and wonder of the physical and living world.
·
Then even more
importantly, to realize and attempt to understand cause and effect. There are
reasons for everything. For every action there are logical and natural
consequences.
It is the goal of the Mullin
Science Dept. to teach essential facts (as they are necessary as building
blocks) and then to help each student understand the cause and effect of the
interaction of the components of the physical and living world.
When we realize that what we
do and don’t do as individuals, as a nation, and as a world population, has
immediate and long lasting effects. We are “the captain of our ship, the master
of our destiny.”
